A Dual-Band Model for the Vertical Distribution of Photosynthetically Available Radiation (PAR) in Stratified Waters

چکیده

Based on the optical properties of water constituents, vertical variation photosynthetically available radiation (PAR) can be well modeled with hyperspectral resolution; intensive computing load, however, demands simplified modeling that easily embedded in marine physical and biogeochemical models. While PAR profile homogeneous waters now accurately simple parameterization, it is still a big challenge to model stratified limited variables. In this study, based empirical equations simulations, we propose dual-band characterize distribution using chlorophyll concentration (Chl). With an inclusive dataset including cruise data collected Southeast Pacific BGC-Argo global ocean, was thoroughly evaluated for its general applicability three aspects: 1) estimating entire from sea-surface Chl profile, 2) euphotic layer depth 3) just below sea surface situ radiometry measurements. It demonstrated proposed capable generating similar estimates as model, thus offering effective module incorporated large-scale ecosystem and/or circulation models efficient calculations.

Attenuation of Photosynthetically Available Radiation (PAR) in Florida Bay: Potential for Light Limitation of Primary Producers

Light attenuation in marine ecosystems can limit primary production and determine the species composition and abundance of primary producers. In Florida Bay, the importance of understanding the present light environment has heightened as major upstream water management restoration projects have been proposed and some are already being implemented. We analyzed a 2-yr (2001–2003) data set of the ...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

the use of appropriate madm model for ranking the vendors of mci equipments using fuzzy approach

abstract nowadays, the science of decision making has been paid to more attention due to the complexity of the problems of suppliers selection. as known, one of the efficient tools in economic and human resources development is the extension of communication networks in developing countries. so, the proper selection of suppliers of tc equipments is of concern very much. in this study, a ...

Vertical distribution of microbial communities in a perennially stratified Arctic lake with saline, anoxic bottom waters

Meromictic lakes are useful biogeochemical models because of their stratified chemical gradients and separation of redox reactions down the water column. Perennially ice-covered meromictic lakes are particularly stable, with long term constancy in their density profiles. Here we sampled Lake A, a deep meromictic lake at latitude 83°N in High Arctic Canada. Sampling was before (May) and after (A...
